It’s really simple! You share your Facebook friends with Friendsitting. Via Facebook, our platform knows who your Friendsitting friends are friends with, and will display them as friends’ friends on the platform.

By not showing you Friendsitting users you have no connection with, we ensure a safe community where you decide who you trust and who is going to be part of your network.

All you have to do is go to your profile, go to “Edit profile - Details” and enter your address in the google powered “Enter your address here” field. If you entered a correct and existing address it will show up in the field below the entry.

We at Friendsitting want to ensure that every user is a real person and not a fake account. It is also important to us that everyone is honest to their friends and friends’ friends. By only allowing you to provide an exact address we can ensure both.

By the way, we do not share your information with third parties and other Friendsitters. You can find out more about this in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Without the Facebook friends list you cannot see your friends or friends’ friends on Friendsitting. Simply put, this means you will not be able to use the platform. Luckily, this is really simple to fix.

All you have to do is go to the settings of your Facebook account and remove the Friendsitting App from the Apps Settings. You can now reload the Friendsitting website, sign back in and get a second chance to share your friends list with Friendsitting. :)

We are currently presenting the prototype of the Friendsitting platform which does not meet all requirements of responsiveness yet. This is one of the first functions to be included in a fully developed platform. However, if you turn your phone sideways, all functions should be easily accessible.

Great question, as this will hopefully be resolved in one of the next updates. For now, every time you receive a stay request on Friendsitting you will get an email to the address you registered with (which is why it is so important to use a proper email!). You will also receive a weekly update on missed out stay requests, messages and friend requests. If you regularly check your email, or have push notifications for emails on your phone, you will be able to easily stay up to date with messages and stay requests until the update is complete.

If your previous stay request was accepted, you can send a new stay request after the departure date. If your stay request was ignored you can send a new stay request after the arrival date of your previous stay request. If a request was denied or cancelled you can send a new stay request at the next day. If your travel dates for a stay request were set to flexible you or your host has to cancel or deny the stay request to be able to send a new stay request to the same Friendsitter.

You are always welcome to message us through the round button in the bottom right corner of the Friendsitting platform, or contact us via We will respond as fast as possible but please keep in mind, we are also just human.
